Many start-ups ask how to pitch. How to prepare slides ? What the structure should be? How should Ilook like? What about my body language? Actually these issues are not so important. What is really important are two basic questions. You should answer them before you start preparing your pitch.
1. To whom are you talking?
Is this your future investor, a business partner or maybe it’s your next client? If you know who is this person, you know what kind of stories and metaphors you should use to reach him or her.
2. Why do you pitch?
There are many reasons why founders pitch. They might might to build community or present themselves as business people or hey might look for investors or clients. When you know the answer, prepare one sentence pitch. Maybe at a bar someone important for you, maybe an investor, will ask you “so tell me, what do you do?”. Then you will have the answer.
