You have probably heard about artificial intelligence. Have you heard, though, how Peter Gloor of MIT, one of the greatest authorities in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning, uses it? His project seems to bring to life the visions of the Black Mirror series. For example, the Happimeter – a smartwatch that reads emotions. Happimeter will not only determine your emotional states, but also let you predict them in given situations, places, or with certain people; with a 94 percent accuracy!
Are you aware of how your business can benefit from robots? This is what Andra Keay works on. Andra is one of the most influential women in world robotics, the founder of Silicon Valley Robotica: a company dealing with market development and robot commercialization, also promoting social applications of robots.
Mark Post deals with something completely different. This specialist in molecular agriculture makes Winston Churchill’s dream of producing meat without slaughtering animals come true. Mark “produced” the first in-vitro hamburger and founded MosaMeat, a start-up which today is one of the global pioneers in the production of the so-called ‘pure meat’. Among the people investing money in Mark’s vision is Sergey Brin, Google’s founder.
In contrast, Natasha Vita-More is the queen of transhumanism. She is the founder of Humanity+, the biggest organization promoting the philosophy of transhumanism, and the designer of the future human: Primo Posthuman, an artistic vision of the humanity. Natasha is the author of numerous works in the field of human improvement and radical extension of life expectancy.
Peter, Andra, Mark, and Natasha belong to the world pioneers in implementing new technologies in the application of modern technologies in their industries. This November in Warsaw at the Masters & Robots conference you will be able to get to know their work more closely. In Central Europe, digital transformation is still mostly the field of theory, lacking inspiring practical examples of implementation and specific case studies. Our knowledge in the field of new technologies is limited only to selected fields. Meanwhile, technology should be learned as a whole because you never know which of the new technologies will have a disruptive impact on our industry. “This is why we are organizing Masters & Robots: to share unique knowledge in this area”, says Jowita Michalska, the founder of the Digital University Foundation – the organizer.
